Wanda Lee (Carney) Stone

Wanda Lee Carney Stone, age 73, of Bardstown, KY formerly of Washington County passed away at 10:24 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Lebanon, KY on September 26, 1951 to the late Jesse Lee “J.L.” and Lula Belle Foster Carney.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a graduate of Washington County High School and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Jane Marie Curtsinger on September 11, 2022.

Survivors include her life partner, David Burkhead of Bardstown; a son, Kristopher Stone of Burlington; a daughter, Angelea Stone of Willisburg; a grandson, Hunter and two brothers, Donnie Carney (Ilene) and Steve Carney of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Gilbert, officiating.

Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 until 2 Tuesday.
