Virgie (Bobblitt) Burkhead

Virgie Bobblitt Burkhead, age 94, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 10:55 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Signature Health Care in Elizabethtown, KY.

A native of Washington County, she was born on April 8, 1931 to the late Valis and Lizzie Florence Milburn Bobblitt.

She was a member of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy, a homemaker, a retired employee of Texas Instruments of Versailles and a former employee of the Springfield Redrying Company.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Floyd Burkhead on July 25, 1986 and two brothers, Curtis Bobblitt on November 24, 2009 and Wilmer Lee Bobblitt on September 15, 2014.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Burkhead of Louisville, Danny Burkhead (Connie) of Lawrenceburg and Tony Burkhead (Lynn) of Willisburg; eight grandchildren, Chalisa Hagan, Bryan Burkhead (Leslie), Tony Lynn Burkhead, Jr. (Laura), Scott Cooper (Kim), Jessica Dones (Eric), Alyssa Morris (Michael), Danielle Bishop and Alex Jackson (Jesse); twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren;  a sister, Essie Hood of Springfield and a brother, Ralph Bobblitt of Willisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 31st at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham, officiating.

Burial will be in the Brush Grove Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as a honorary pallbearer will be Danny Burkhead.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tony Burkhead, Bryan Burkhead, Blake Burkhead, Brennan Burkhead, Tony Lynn Burkhead, Jr. and Scott Cooper.

Visitation will be at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy from 2 until 8 Thursday and after 8:00 Friday morning until time of the funeral.
