Thomas Edward McIlvoy, age 70, of Springfield, KY passed away at 4:13 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on March 9, 1951 to the late Joseph Logan and Dorothy Helen Barr McIlvoy.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a 1969 graduate of Washington County High School and a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. Tommy was a former employee of Lily Tulip of Bardstown, operated the former Milburn’s Shoe Shop of Springfield, served as an officer for several years on the Springfield Police Department and retired from Inoac of Springfield.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Joseph Ronald McIlvoy on June 19, 1969 and his sister, Nancy Perkins on March 23, 1992.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Milburn McIlvoy; his son Shawn McIlvoy and his wife, Heather of Springfield and five grandchildren, Gracelyn, Payton, Harrison, Davis and Hazel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24th at the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Franklin, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Terry McIlvoy.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ralph Barr, Paul McIlvoy, Timmy McIlvoy, Tonnie Miller, John Rerynolds and Merle Begley.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charlie McIlvoy and Troy Perkins.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday at the Temple Baptist Church.
