Terry Lee Tope

Terry Lee Tope, age 75, of Springfield, KY passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

He was born in DuQuoin, Illinois on August 31, 1950 to the late Leroy and Marie Madden Tope.

Terry was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a retired bus mechanic for the Washington County School System and a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam war.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Teri Lynn Goodlett on August 26, 2007 and a brother, Gil Tope.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Coyle Tope; a daughter, Stacy Tope Swallows (Adam) of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Megan Lee Brak (Cory), Morgan Lane Lynn (Bradley), Makenna Goodlett, Brantley Swallows, Brycen Swallows and Bodhi Swallows; six great grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Tope of Illinois and two brothers, David Tope (Donna) and Alan Tope, both of Herrin, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday, January 7th at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating.

Burial will be in the Beech Grove Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be after 10:00 Wednesday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
