Sherri Ellen (Phillips) Edelen

Sherri Ellen Phillips Edelen, age 57, of Louisville, KY formerly of Springfield, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Lebanon, KY on September 18, 1968 to the late Donald William and Florene Coulter Phillips.

She was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, a 1986 graduate of Washington County High School and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She was a former social worker for Community Action and a former employee of General Electric.

Preceding her in death was an infant brother, Gary Phillips on April 24, 1959.

Survivors include her husband, John Patrick Edelen; a daughter, Brooke Edelen; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Edelen all of Louisville; a step-daughter, Tabitha Ross (Jimmy) of Lexington; a step-son, Marcus Gilbert (Hana) of Bardstown; five step grandchildren, Justyn and Justus Ross and Penelope, Hiromi and Johan Gilbert; a brother, Billy Phillips (Tammy) of Springfield and a sister, Tina Fenwick of LaGrange.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Friday evening, January 9th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.

Cremation will follow the service and her cremains will be inurned on Cemetery Hill.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Friday, January 9th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
