Ruth Hays Obituary

Ruth Arnold Hays, age 93, of the Texas Community of Washington County, KY passed away at 3:10 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Village of Lebanon Nursing Home.

A native of Washington County, she was born on February 17, 1932 to the late James Emmett and Edith Russell Arnold.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas Allen “Tom” Hays on July 23, 1981; two sons-in-law, Marvin Coulter and Joe Carpenter; a grandson, Tommy Coulter; two sisters, Jeanie Beckum and Barbara Riley and three brothers, Russell Arnold, Robert Arnold and Howard Neal “Dick” Arnold.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Rose Coulter and Tammi Purdom (Warren) of Springfield and Mary Carpenter of Junction City; a son, Joe Hays (Beverly) of Perryville; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and a sister, Donna Carpenter (Bobby) of Gravel Switch.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Carpenter, officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Warren Thomas Purdom, Kevin Purdom, Derek Coulter, James Allen Pinkston, Jerry Pinkston and Noah Warren.

Visitation will be after 10:00 Sunday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
