Rosalind Ray Lewis Honeycutt, age 86, of Lexington, KY formerly of Springfield passed away at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her home after an illness.
A native of Springfield, Kentucky, she was born on April 28, 1935 to the late Bennett R. and Helen Redmond Lewis.
She was of the Methodist faith, a 1953 graduate of Springfield High School, a graduate of Eastern State College and she received her master’s degree from Syracuse University. She served as a teacher for forty years with the Chicago City School System, teaching the advanced placement education classes.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Dr. Catherine Ray Lewis on May 5, 2017 and her brother, Colin C. Lewis on June 4, 2008.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll David Honeycutt.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Bailey, pastor of the Springfield United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
