Purdom L. Lewis

Purdom L. Lewis, age 84, of Prather Lane, Springfield, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home.

A native of Washington County, he was born on August 28, 1939 to the late Robert Lee and Zora Ethel Byrd Lewis. 

He was a member of the Willisburg Church of God and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Deulah Fay Lewis on April 3, 2020 and Beulah Mae Lewis on May 24, 2022 and two brothers, Ancil L. Lewis on December 20, 1997 and Orvil Ray Lewis on August 26, 2010.

He is survived by his wife Juanita Willett Lewis; two sons, Kevin Lewis (Shelia) and Terry Lewis (Kara) both of Springfield; two daughters, Phyllis Butler of Willisburg and Rosemary Hardin (Roger) of Springfield; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 31st at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Thompson, officiating.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Lewis, Robbie Butler, Michael Butler, Josh Sallee, Brandon Baker and Lloyd Lewis.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
