Peggy Ann Devine, age 83, of Mackville, KY passed away at 7:40 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Washington County, she was born at Mackville on June 29, 1940 to the late Charles Emmitt and Virginia Mae Gammon Devine.
She was a member of the Mackville Christian Church, she was the Valedictorian of the 1958 graduating class of Mackville High School and she attended St. Catharine College. Peggy was a former bookkeeper for Cowden Manufacturing Company and retired from the Washington County Health Department where she was employed for thirty-five years with many of those years serving as the county registrar.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frankie and Clara Goodknight Gammon; her paternal grandparents, Ernie and Flora Shewmaker Devine and her uncle, Leslie (Maxine) Gammon.
Survivors include her caregivers, Sue Masters and Patricia Hardin of Mackville, friends and former co-workers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Cooper, officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Nelson Reynolds.
Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Nally, Glenn Arnold and Ken Young.
Serving as casket bearers will be Stephen Nally, Marty Hatchett, Adam Riley, Freddie Bottoms, Tyler Centers and Chris Taylor.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Tuesday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
