Paul F. Smith, Sr., age 79, of Springfield, KY passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his farm.
A native of Washington County, he was born on February 16, 1945 to the late John Ed and Mary Alice Johnson Smith.
He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, a 1963 graduate of Fredericktown High School, a retired employee of General Electric Company of Louisville and a farmer.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Nina Jean Hagan Smith; his son, Paul F. Smith, Jr. and four brothers, Lenny, Tommy, Tony and Bill Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Jo Maupin (Todd) of Springfield; a grandson, William Maupin; two step grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Karsyn Maupin; four sisters, Theresa Osbourn and Betty Blandford of Springfield, Mary Fendley (Jim) of LaGrange and Irene Cheser of Lexington and four brothers, J.C. Smith (Ruth Ellen) and Kenny Smith (Deloris) of Springfield, John Smith (Joyce) of Louisville and Joe Smith (Nancy) of Alexander.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday March 6th at the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler officiating.
In keeping with his wishes cremation will follow the service and his cremains will be inurned in the St. Rose Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Smith, Jesse Smith, John Edward Smith, Jeremy Smith, David Osbourn and Adam Koebel.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday and after 7:30 Wednesday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
