Paul O. Borders

Paul O. Borders, age 80, of Grundy Avenue, Springfield, KY passed away at 12:21 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his home.

A native of Washington County, he was born on October 21, 1941 to the late Joseph Robert and Anna Clara Mattingly Borders.

He was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church, a retired employee of Nally & Gibson, he served for several years on the Springfield City Council, served on the Idle Hour Park Board and after retirement he served as a security officer for the school.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Ethel Spalding Borders on April 21, 2018; a son, Paul C. Borders on April 30, 2018; a granddaughter, Brittany Lee Wheatley on December 29, 1988; five sisters, Margie Holderman, Martha Ann Hester, Mary Helen Thomas, Myrtle Burgin and Sueanna Borders and two brothers, Joseph Robert Borders, Jr. and Joseph Albert Borders.

Survivors include four daughters, Pam Wheatley of Springfield, Patricia Taylor (Terry) of Campbellsville, Amanda Hodgens of Louisville and Phyllis Borders of Lexington; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Tungate (Gene) of Springfield.

A memorial mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20th at the St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. David Ferrell, officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
