Oliver Ray Sims, age 73, of Lebanon, formerly of the Battle Community of Washington County, passed away at 7:24 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his home.
A native of Mercer County, he was born on May 21, 1951 to the late Donald Raymond and Mary May Pittman Sims.
He was a member of the former Battle Baptist Church and a retired employee of TG Kentucky of Lebanon.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Nancy Buntain Sims on November 15, 2006.
Survivors include his significant other, Bernice McKenzie of Lebanon; a son, Earl Ray Sims (Amie) of Springfield; two daughters, Rebecca Blakeman (Jarrod)) of Springfield and Ann Gawarecki (Bruce) of Mackville; three grandchildren, Robyn Paige Lawson (James Scott), Nicholas Ray Sims (Mackenzie) and Marcus Earl Staton; two great grandchildren, Evan Scott Lawson and Maci Rae Lawson and a sister, Frances Yaste of Lebanon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Rafferty officiating.
Burial will be in the Battle Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pall bearers are Joey Byrd, Scott Byrd, Justin Byrd, Clayton Byrd, Billy Joe Yaste and Scott Lawson.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Thursday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
