Norma Pinkston Obituary

Norma Logsdon Pinkston, age 93, of Mackvillle, KY passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Baptist Health in Lexington.

A native of Washington County, she was born on September 18, 1931 to the late Silas Ray and Annie Lou Noe Logsdon.

She was a member of the Mackville Christian Church and a 1950 graduate of Mackville High School. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on their farm.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald Pinkston on February 13, 2012; her son, Douglas Pinkston on April 18, 2014; four sisters, Edna Cocanougher on Sept. 12, 1959, Etta Neat on Nov. 19, 2015, Joyce Burton on Feb. 23, 2019 and Frances Russell on July 9, 2022 and four brothers, John Logsdon on Dec. 25, 1989, Charlie Logsdon on July 5, 1996, Fleece Logsdon Jan. 23, 1998 and Eugene Logsdon on Jan. 16, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Buddy who often warned her of thunderstorms and chest pains.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Dan) Back of Lexington; a daughter-in-law, Pam Pinkston of Mackville; two grandsons, Matthew (Anita) Pinkston of Springfield and Chad (Kaye) Pinkston of Danville; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Harlan Burton; a sister-in-law, Donna Logsdon and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special great niece, Robbie Canterberry of Mackville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21st at the Mackville Christian Church with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Parnell Cochran, Jesse Arnold, Marty Hatchett, Terry Russell, Ken Young and Charlie Goatley.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tommy Yankey, Tyler Centers, Nathan Cochran, Lowell Peavler, Kevin Russell and Jacob Settles.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Saturday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 1:00 Sunday at the church.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
