Michael James McGavock, age 43, of Willisburg, KY passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles.
He was born on February 25, 1979 in Waukesha, WI.
He attended the Springfield Presbyterian Church, a 1997 graduate of Washington County High School, an employee of NSG of Versailles and was an army veteran.
Preceding him in death was his father, Michael James Curtis.
Survivors include his wife, Marianna Carrico McGavock; a son, Johnethan McGavock; two daughters, JeAnna McGavock and Jasmine McGavock all at home; his mother, Tammy Ann McGavock of Salyersville; three brothers, Richie Speer (Lacy) of Willisburg, Coy Speer (Stephanie) of Morehead and Christopher Speer of Willisburg; three sisters, Hannah Speer of Mt. Sterling, Toni Minix of Salyersville and Amy Curtis of Wisconsin; his in-laws, Ann and Roger Johnson of Springfield; brothers-in-law, Jamie Carrico (Stephanie) of Springfield and Brian Carrico of Harrodsburg; sisters-in-law, Amanda Allen (Bill) and Melanie Johnson of Louisville; sixteen nieces and nephews; two great nephews and two great nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23rd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Stevens and Rev. Richie Speer, officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Honor Guard.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Carrico, Dylan Clem, Rebecca Clem, Larry Baxter, Mike Perry, William McKee, Terrell Royalty, Paul Taylor, Ed Burton, John Tindall and Jon Underwood.
Serving as casket bearers will be Lucas Carrico, Seth Carrico, Dalton Carrico, Ryan Boblitt, Ethan Speer and Rachel Speer.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Wednesday and from 7:30 until time of the service Thursday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
