May Ola Hood Hardin, age 89, of Springfield, KY passed away at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, she was born on August 13, 1934 to the late Marvin and Bessie Mae Curtsinger Hood.
She was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church, a homemaker, former bookkeeper for Hardin’s Trucking Company and for several years provided in-home patient care.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Evan Hardin on September 13, 2018; her daughter, Marilyn Gale Mattingly on June 11, 1995; a sister, Dorothey Thompson and four brothers, Marvin Leon Hood, Willard Cleo Hood, Vernon Lee Hood and Helem Thomas Hood.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Lanette Hardin of Springfield; four grandchildren, Cody Hardin, Dustin Hardin (Tamatha), Dakota Hardin and James Chesser (Leann) and four great grandchildren, Dixie Rose Hardin, Anthony Chesser, Navaeh Bolin and Evan Chesser,
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 16th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Hatfield, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cody Hardin and Dixie Rose Hardin.
Serving as casket bearers will be Dustin Hardin, Dakota Hardin, James Chesser, Anthony Thompson, David Thompson and Bruce Thompson.
Visitation will be from 4:30 until 8:00 Saturday and after 9:00 Sunday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
