Marianna (Steward) Hazel

Marianna Steward Hazel, age 83, of Chaplin, passed away at 5:54 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at her home.

A native of Union County, KY she was born on March 24, 1940 to the late Harry and Lorene O’Nan Steward.

She was a member of The Church of God at Chaplin, a homemaker and served alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife for fifty years.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Rev. Earl Hazel on November 17, 2022 and a brother, Gary Steward.

Survivors include her son, Randell Hazel and his wife, Sherry of Willisburg; two grandchildren, Caleb Hazel and Noah Hazel; a sister, Connie Ratley (Johnny) of Sturgis and two brothers, Darrell Steward (Sherry) of Sturgis and Eddie Steward (Mary Jo) of Morganfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10th at The Church of God at Chaplin with Rev. Donald R. Estep, II officiating.

Burial will be in the High View Cemetery at Chaplin.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 11:00 Wednesday morning at the church.
