Margaret Marie (Mays) Hood

Margaret Marie Mays Hood, age 91, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away at 5:22 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.

A native of Mason County, KY she was born on July 6, 1931 to the late Robert J. and Lucy M. Grimes Mays.

She was a member of the Bullitt Lick Baptist Church; a graduate of Orangeburg High School in Mason County; a homemaker, a former bookkeeper and for the past twenty years she was employed by Wal-Mart having retired in 2022.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Helem Thomas “H.T.” Hood on October 19, 2001; a granddaughter, Veronica Davis Beavers; a sister, Eskaleen Mays and a brother, Robert Mays, Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Greg Hood (Aria Bailey) and Larry Hood of Louisville and Billy Davis, Jr. of Shepherdsville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a sister, Norma Turner of Flemingsburg.    

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Willingham, officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
