Mabel June Sagrecy Simpson, age 85, of Booker Road, Springfield, KY passed away at 1:32 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at her home.
A native of Washington County, she was born on February 19, 1937 to the late Walter Everett and Lydia Christine Grigsby Sagrecy.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a former employee of Medco Center in Springfield and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Virgil Woodson Simpson on January 13, 2014; four sisters, Mary Sue Hardin on February 19, 2007, Christine Lyvers on March 26, 2017, Dorothy Lanham on April 15, 2019 and Betty Lou Hardin on February 28, 2022 and four brothers, William Ray Sagrecy on January 11, 1941, James Sagrecy on April 29, 1992, Charles Joseph Sagrecy on November 16, 2019 and Walter Lee “Bud” Sagrecy on December 25, 2020.
Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Cocanougher of Springfield and Evelyn Wilcher (Carl) of Mt. Washington; a brother, David Sagrecy of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 27th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Sagrecy, Raymond “Tinker” Hardin, Jerry Lanham, Jerry Wayne Lanham, Troy Lanham and Larry Hardin.
Visitation will be after 9:30 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
