Louise Yantis Young, age 85, of East High Street, Springfield, KY passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg.
A native of Washington County, she was born on November 9, 1937 to the late Sylvester and Martha Grant Speaks Yantis.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield, a retired employee of the Central Kentucky Head Start Program working her entire career in Washington County and a school bus driver for over thirty years for the Washington County School System.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John Robert Young; an infant son, a brother, James Yantis and two sisters, Patsy Ruth Johnson and Sarah Yantis.
Survivors include a son, Robert Allen Young of Springfield; five grandchildren, Candace Churchill (Timmy), John Spalding (Anglique), Robert Allen Young, Jr., Lavanda Young and Louietta Young; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Livers of Bardstown and Shelby Jean Yantis of Springfield and two brothers, Billy Yantis (Cynthia) of Bardstown and Ronald Bruce Yantis (Betsy) of Springfield and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20th at the First Baptist Church of Springfield with Rev. Gene Livers, the church pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Dominic- Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 until 12 Saturday at the First Baptist Church.
