Louise Jewell Lewis, age 93, of Louisville, KY formerly of Washington County, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital.
A native of Washington County, she was born on November 29, 1928 to the late Robert Owen and Annie Bell Haydon Jewell.
She was a member of the Valley Station Church of God and a homemaker,
Preceding her in death was her husband, Hollis Lewis on July 4, 2009; a grandson, Christopher Michael Richardson on November 29, 1972; two sisters, Martha Fannie Jewell and Darlene Kelly and eight brothers, L.M., Elliott Lee, Marvin, Edward Thomas, Willie, Charles, Bobby and Hollie Jewell.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Richardson (Michael); two granddaughters, Kristen Hope Janssen (Brad) and Melinda Gayle Kolb (Troy); four great grandchildren, Noah Clayton Janssen, Olivia Nicole Janssen, William Alexander Kolb and Caroline Grace Kolb all of Louisville; four sisters, Gertrude Chesser of Willisburg, Evelyine Milburn of Chaplin, Nancy Pike (Ricky) and Betty Coulter (Mike) of Springfield and five brothers, Darrell Jewell (Barbara) of Willisburg, Leslie Jewell (Gail) of Springfield, Tommy Jewell, Billy Joe Jewell (Caroline) of Springfield and Vernon Jewell (Keri) of Bardstown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 30th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Bass, pastor of the Valley Station Church of God, officiating.
Burial will be in the Valley Cemetery at Taylorsville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Kolb, Will Kolb, Noah Janssen, Darrell Jewell, Leslie Jewell, Tommy Jewell and Vernon Jewell.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
