Louise Smith Lanham, age 75, of Rizer Avenue, Springfield, KY passed away at 9:20 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Washington County, she was born on September 7, 1946 to the late Joseph Edward and Elizabeth Carrico Smith.
She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, a 1964 graduate of Fredericktown High School and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Althaire Lucas and Shirley Ann Mattingly and four brothers, Johnny L. Smith, Charles Owen Smith, Edward “Tinker” Smith and Howard Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Allen Lanham; a daughter, Michelle Barlow (Scott); a son, Troy Lanham (Megan) all of Springfield; three grandchildren, Johnethan McGavick, Noah Sagrecy and Rylee Lanham; four sisters, Marilyn Watkins, Minnie Fay Smith, Linda Blanford (Mickey) and Frances Medley all of Springfield and three brothers, Thomas Herbert Smith (Bonnie), Ronnie Smith (Bonnie) of Springfield and J.R. Smith of Lexington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11th at the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be Kevin Mattingly, Brian Smith, John Michael Medley, Nicholas Smith, Eddie Blanford and Matthew Coulter.
Visitation will be from 3 until 8 Wednesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral Home.
The family request that all visitors please wear face mask.
