Mrs. Lois McIlvoy Grigsby, age 81, of Mayes Creek Road, Springfield, KY, passed away at 8:55 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her home.
A native of Washington County, she was born on April 4, 1940 to the late William Archie and Velera Switser McIlvoy.
She was a graduate of Mackville High School, a homemaker and enjoyed milking and running the family dairy.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Darrell Grigsby on July 8, 2013; a son, Darrell Wayne Grigsby on December 15, 2016; four sisters, Vivian L. Wise on April 26, 2009, Juanita Ray on January 5, 2011, Doris Ratliff on August 4, 2009 and Mary Tomblin on July 23, 2019 and five brothers, Joseph L. McIlvoy on December 8, 1993, Morris Edward McIlvoy on November 17, 1936, William J. McIlvoy on August 27, 2007, Virgil McIlvoy on March 2, 2015 and Charles B. McIlvoy on January 20, 1987.
Survivors include her son, Steven Anthony Grigsby of Springfield; her granddaughter, Stephanie Paige Grigsby of Mt. Washington; a brother, J.T. McIlvoy and his wife, Phyllis of Bardstown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Amy Call, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Ratliff, Christian Ratliff, Dylan Davidson, Mike Davidson, Tyler Call and Martin Mudd.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Saturday morning at the funeral home.
