Linda Mae Sorrels Thompson, age 70, beloved, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at 10:29 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 13, 1952.
Linda lived most of her life in Willisburg, KY where she enjoyed spending time with her family. A member of the Chaplin Road Free Pentecostal Church, she was a devoted Christian, enjoyed reading the Bible and was a passionate prayer warrior. Never meeting a stranger, she loved to share her testimony with others and help them on their walk with God.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Nancy Sorrels, her grandmother, Nola (Arnold) Moore, her in-laws, Ernest and Elizabeth Thompson; sister-in-law, Rev. Brenda Chesser and an uncle Richard Sorrels.
Linda will be remembered by her husband of fifty-five years, Charles Thompson and their children, Tina Mae (Wayne) Standiford of Willisburg, Kenneth Lee Thompson of Springfield and Charles Lynn Thompson (Robert Clark) of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Michelle Merriman, Kimberly Standiford, Clarissa Standiford, James, Richard, Eddie and Angela Thompson; a sister, Debbie Sorrels of Springfield and a brother Michael Sorrels of Bardstown.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tina Standiford and Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ernest Thompson Memorial Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michelle Merriman, Kimberly Standiford, Clarissa Standiford, Angie Curtsinger, Toni Marie Chesser and Missy Byrd.
Serving as casket bearers will be Richard Thompson, Robert Clark, Wayne Standiford, Ricky Curtsinger, Randy Curtsinger and Keith Curtsinger.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 Monday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
