Lillian Logsdon Carney, age 94, of Springfield, KY passed away at 9:52 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the home of her daughter.
A native of Washington County, she was born on October 16, 1930 to Joseph Hartford and Viola Goode Logsdon.
She was a member of the Springfield Christian Church, a homemaker, a former cafeteria employee of the Springfield Elementary School and a longtime partner in the former C & L Florist.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James Vaughn Carney on January 13, 2007; her brother, Ernest Hartford “Pete” Logsdon on October 4, 1992; three sisters, infant Frances Logsdon on October 3, 1926, Nellie Goode Logsdon on November 28, 1997 and Sarah Louise “Sis” Logsdon on November 4, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Carney Burns and her husband, Randy and a son, Larry Vaughn Carney and his wife, Carol, all of Springfield; three grandsons, Jonathan Burns (Anna Latek), Matthew Burns (Sarah) and Stephen Carney; a great grandson, Benjamin James Burns and a great granddaughter expected in a few days.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1st at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Roland Youmans, officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Georgie Coulter, Kathy Coulter, Jim Broyles, Gail Lewis, Larry Mattingly, Barry Peavler, Todd Thompson, Phillip Wechter, Jessica Youmans and members of the Springfield Christian Church.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff Brady, Timmy Coulter, Kelvin Dennis, Ronnie Lewis, Jait Youmans and Rylin Youmans.
Visitation will be after 1:00 Friday.
