Leslie Reco Smalley

Leslie Reco Smalley, age 54, of Bardstown, KY formerly of Springfield passed away at 3:03 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

He was born in Lebanon, KY on May 6, 1971 to George William and Rubye Nell Hurrigan Smalley.

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a graduate of Washington County High School and a former employee of Holiday World.

Preceding him in death was a grandson, Mason Smalley on Dec. 16, 2019; his father, George William Smalley on Sept. 10, 1986 and three brothers, Jeffrey Leonard Smalley on May 8, 2004, Richard Pernell Smalley on Oct. 25, 2012 and William David Smalley on July 6, 2017.

Survivors include his mother, Rubye Nell Smalley of Springfield; a son, Terrell Smalley (Destiny) of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Jordan and Olivia Smalley; two step-sons, Brandon Tonge of Bardstown and Hunter Megan of Fordsville; two step- daughters, Brooklyn and Haley Magan of Fordsville; a sister, Kimberly Nell Keene of Springfield and three brothers, George Joseph “Inky” Hurrigan and Anthony Martin “Tony” Smalley of Springfield and James Daniel “Jamie” Smalley of Frankfort.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3rd at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P., officiating.

Inurnment will be in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church after 9:00 Wednesday morning.
