Lesa Tweet Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, and friend, Lesa Fenison Tweet, age 62, passed into the arms of her Savior at 11:52 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee.

She was born on October 22, 1960 to James Berlyn (J.B.) Fenison and Elizabeth Bushnell Fenison in Omak, Washington. She grew up in Lexington, KY until the age of 19 when she moved to Washington state to attend nursing school.

She married Timothy Leigh Tweet on September 10, 1983 in Seattle, Washington. They lived in the King, Pierce, and Thurston counties until they returned to Kentucky in July of 2022.

Lesa committed her life to her faith, family, and community. She served as a nurse for 45 years, working as an RN in nursing homes, hospitals, and clinics. She ended her career serving military families and veterans as a nurse case manager. She saw herself as an advocate for patients, the military community, and veterans and was instrumental in helping to shape federal policy nationwide for patient care standards.

Lesa was known for her warrior spirit and passion for life. She cared deeply for people and stood up for those who could not stand for themselves. She was kind and compassionate, yet fierce and strong.

Through it all, her love for Christ was palpable. She enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings, ocean trips, and seeing new places. She expressed herself through music and wrote several worship songs. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Temple in Lakewood, Washington and after moving to Kentucky began attending Bethlehem Baptist Church in Springfield.

Preceding her in death was her father, J.B. Fenison and a brother, Jamie Fenison.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy Leigh Tweet; a daughter, Rachel Campbell (Mark); two sons, Ryan Tweet and Tim J. Tweet (Elena); 4 grandchildren (Adalei, Isaac, Chloe); her mother, Elizabeth Guyer; four sisters, Tami Kozanecki (Larry) and Mary Krisel, Marguerite Humber (Alex), and Zerilda Evans (Marc) and two brothers, Curtis Fenison and James Berlyn Fenison Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Springfield, KY, officiated by Rev. Josh Knouf, pastor of Lakewood Baptist Temple, Lakewood, WA.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Springfield, KY.

Burial will immediately follow the service in the Bethlehem Cemetery with a reception following. A celebration of life service will also be held in Washington with details to be arranged.
