Leon Chance

Leon Chance, age 61, of Mackville, KY passed away at 10:07 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2026 at the home of his sister, Joni Sparrow at Willisburg.

He was born on January 26, 1965 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Elsie Marie Saxon Chance and Joseph Leo Chance, Sr.

He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church and a farmer.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Joe Chance, Jr. and a sister, Frances Chance.

Survivors include a son, Richard Chance of Willisburg; a daughter, Brendi Gracia (Abraham) of Bardstown; a brother, Larry Chance (Margaret) of Bardstown; three sisters, Rose Lewis of Mackville, Joni Sparrow of Willisburg and Pat Bowen of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews and an adopted granddaughter, Candyn Hensley. Leon enjoyed farming and worked alongside his other family, Marty, Jeannie, Justin and Brittany Hatchett of Mackville.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, April 24th at the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Jordan Simpson, officiating.

Burial will be in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Hatchett, George Masters, Roger Harrell, Tom Harrell, John Harrell, Hershell Sparrow ad Tyler Centers.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Thursday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 9:00 Friday morning at the Unity Baptist Church.
