Kenneth Marion Perkins, age 76 of Bloomfield, KY, formerly of Mooresville Community of Washington County, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday,February 14, 2023 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on November 20, 1946 to the late John William “J.W.” and Artie Mae Cheatham Perkins.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a 1965 graduate of Springfield High School, attended Bryant Stratton Business College and was a former employee of Publishers Printing Company. Kenny enjoyed fishing, singing and writing country music.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Joyce McAllister Perkins on December 5, 2021; a sister, Betty Lou Goodlett on October 19, 1998; two nephews, John William Morris, IV and Ricky Lynn Goodlett and a niece, Kristen Nichole Nelson.
Survivors include a son, David Perkins (Julie); a daughter Janet Mills (Harvey) of Mishawaka, IN; three step-daughters, Matilda O’Bryan (Brent) of Frankfort, Lynn Ware (Doug) of Mt. Eden and Wanda Moore (Cranford) of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Rosie Morris of Bloomfield; a niece, Mary Ann Goodlett of Waddy, KY; a cousin, Lela Powell of Carrolton, Ohio and three special friends, Larry Wright, William “Sonny” Taylor and Lou Ellen Pepper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Johnnie Bailey, officiating.
Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
