Obituary

Kenneth Lloyd Carney, age 97, of Bardstown, KY passed away at 8:35 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his home.

A native of Washington County, he was born on March 15, 1925 to the late Powers M. and Dora Farris Carney.

He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the 179th Regiment and stationed in Italy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart award.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth Bramley Carney on May 7, 2018.

Survivors include four first cousins, Imelda Jones of Perryville, Eugene Mattingly (Suzanne) of Bardstown, Eldon Mattingly (Arlene) of Nicholasville and Janice Hendricks (Jim) of Louisville.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3rd at the New Hope Cemetery in the Mooresville Community of Washington County with Rev. Duray Aldridge, officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard at the gravesite.
