Katherine Black Downs, age 76, of the Thompsonville Community of Washington County, KY passed away on Monday morning, April 10, 2023 at her home after an illness.
A native of Washington County, she was born on February 11, 1947 to the late Jack and Virginia Mann Black.
She was a member of the New Beginnings Community Church, a 1965 graduate of Mackville High School and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, William Earl “Bill” Downs, Jr. on October 19, 2009.
Survivors include three daughters, Jenny Downs and Billie Anne Cambron (Ricky) of Mackville and Leslie Peppers (Adrian) of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, George Ann Palmer of Thompsonville and two brothers, Jack Black, Jr. (Louise) of Frankfort and David Black (Kim) of Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Wilson, officiating.
Burial will be on Cemetery Hill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Downs, Jeffrey Warner, Jonathan Roution, John Black, Nathan Black and Bryan Kottak.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
