Karen Lynne (Ellis) Royalty

Karen Lynne Ellis Royalty, age 67, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 9:37 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Versailles, KY on May 9, 1956 to Tommy and Shelby Terrell Ellis.

She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Washington County School System.  

She loved her whole family to the fullest.  She was always thinking of others instead of herself.  She loved to sew, garden, do anything outdoors and spend time with her beloved grandchildren.  She drove the school bus for many years and touched the hearts of different lives throughout those three decades.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Barry Ellis, Jeff Hughes and Calvin Loveland.

Survivors include her husband, Ritchie Royalty; a son, Chris Royalty (Janice) of Lebanon; a daughter, Wendy Brady (Paul) of Springfield; three grandchildren, Kaleb Wimpsett, Abby Brady and Molly Brady; one great grandchild, Conner Wimpsett; her mother, Shelby Loveland of Lebanon and a sister, Deidra Smith (Tony) of Willisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 9th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Lumbrix, officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Abby Brady, Molly Brady, Conner Wimpsett, Jerry Royalty, Carol Royalty, Danny Richardson, Tiffany Smith, Kayla Jones, Al Jones and members of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Serving as casket bearers will be Kaleb Wimpsett, Paul Brady, Chad Royalty, Jamie Terrell, Ashley Boblitt and Travis Ellis.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Thursday and after 8:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
