Juanita (Chesser) Byrd

Juanita Chesser Byrd, age 87, of Chaplin, KY passed away at 5:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Crestview Healthcare and Rehab Center in Shelbyville.

A native of Washington County, she was born on August 19, 1937 to the late Robert Lee and Ellie Frances Milburn Chesser.

She was a member of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy D. Byrd on August 12, 2023 and three brothers, Leroy Chesser on February 1, 2015, Clarence Ray Chesser on May 7, 2014 and Robert Jr. Chesser on August 29, 2020.

Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Hardin (Anthony); two sons, William Byrd (Melissa) and Glenn D. Byrd (Theresa) all of Chaplin; six grandchildren, Blake Hardin, Ben Hardin, Quentin Byrd, Miranda Byrd, Jessica Byrd and Ariel Krzeminski; five great grandchildren; a brother, Tolbert Chesser (Helen) of Willisburg and three sisters, Mae Marple and Peggy Hawkins both of Willisburg and Rosell Bunch of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 21st at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham, officiating.

Burial will be in the Brush Grove Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Hardin, Blake Hardin, Quentin Byrd, Matt Krzeminski, Wes Tingle and Brock Hawkins.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 until 8 Thursday and after 8:00 Friday morning.
