Joyce Anne (Leonard) Powell

Joyce Anne Leonard Powell, age 79, of Mackville, KY passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Harrodsburg, KY on March 15, 1945 to the late Gilbert and Hattie Camden Leonard.

She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, attended the Mackville Baptist Church, a 1963 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and a 1968 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Joyce was a retired employee of the Human Resources Department for the State of Kentucky.

Preceding her in death was her husband, James K. “Jim” Powell on July 29, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, April 13th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Wanda Smith and Frances Medley.

Serving as casket bearers will be John Holiday, Dennis Holiday, Jimmy Holiday, Jerry Holiday, Zack Gross, Tony Warner and Wesley Smith.

Visitation will be after 9:30 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
