Joshua Blake Yates, age 38, of Willisburg, KY passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home.
He was born on March 28, 1988 in Lebanon, Kentucky.
He was a former employee of Wendy’s of Springfield.
Preceding him in death his maternal great grandparents, James Miles Haydon and Grace Lewis Haydon and Helen Louise Harmon; his paternal grandfather, Joseph C. Yates, Sr. and his paternal great grandparents, Mary Ethel Yates and Willie and Mattie Coslow.
He is survived by his parents, Christy Ray of Willisburg and Joseph C. Yates, Jr. of Springfield; a sister, Morgan (Larry) Yates; a brother, Jayden Yates; four nephews, Braydon, Brandon, Brantley and Braxton Lanham; a niece, Elizabeth Lanham; maternal grandparents, Charles and Kathleen Harmon; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Yates all of Springfield; aunts and uncles, Kim and Tony Drury of Willisburg, Todd and Santhi Harmon of Taylorsville, Tonya and Phillip Clarkson of Lebanon, Angie and Tony Lay of Willisburg and Timothy Yates of Springfield and a host of cousins and friends.
To know him was to love him. Blake “Big Sexy” had a heart of gold and was a joy to be around. He loved his niece and nephews dearly and will forever be in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Shelton and Dallas Lewis, officiating.
Visitation will be after 11:00 Sunday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
