Josephine (Tennill) Foster

Josephine Tennill Foster, age 97, of Louisville, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 6:06 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

A native of Washington County, she was born on April 1, 1925 to the late Wilmer Lee and Jenny Catherine Grigsby Tennill.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald L. Foster on December 9, 1983; a daughter, Judy Lane Foster Schmitt on November 27, 2017; a granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Schmitt Pardue on September 10, 2006; a great grandson, Wesley Andrew Ridener on February 12, 1998 and three sisters, Nancy Sue Tennill in 1938, Anna Lou Barr on April 20, 2014 and Betsy Curtsinger on July 7, 2018.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Foster of Shepherdsville; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Parrott and Mary Jo Hale of Springfield and two brothers, William L. “Pete” Tennill (Katherine) and Ralph Tennill (Johnnie) of Springfield.   

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 20th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Thursday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
