Joetta Grigsby Grimes, age 93, of Bardstown, KY passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, she was born on July 9, 1932 to the late Fred Russell and Lula Frances Chesser Grigsby.
She was a member of the Nelson County Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former resident of Nazareth Village for several years.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jim Grimes; six sisters, Kay Rhoades, Dorothy Bradley, Mary Zukas, Fay Burns, Geneva Reddicks and Norvel Wimsatt and two brothers, James Grigsby and David Grigsby.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Simpson, Connie Johnson and Sheila Bramante; two sisters, Ruella King of Bardstown and Eleanor Curtsinger of Springfield and three brothers, Earl Grigsby and Harold Grigsby (Patsy) of Springfield and Richard Grigsby (Pat) of Willisburg.
In keeping with her wishes cremation was chosen and a graveside service will be held on Cemetery Hill at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13th with her nephew, Keith Grigsby officiating.
