Jessie Haydon, Jr.

Jessie Haydon, Jr., age 81, of Hardesty Road, Springfield, KY passed away at 2:21 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

A native of Washington County, he was born on August 22, 1940 to the late Jess and Jennie Chesser Haydon.

He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a farmer and a retired employee of the Armour Food Company.

Preceding him in death was a grandson, Jordan Alan “Jordy” Haydon on January 2, 2015; a granddaughter, Eliza Grace Haydon on July 15, 2016; two brothers, James Delbert “Jim” Haydon on March 15, 2010 and William Joseph Haydon on February 20, 1938 and two sisters, Margaret Grigsby on November 22, 2007 and Katherine Hood on February 7, 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Drury Haydon; two daughters, Marilyn (Joe) Peters and Monica Haydon; two sons, Alan (Jan) Haydon and Keith (Katrina) Haydon all of Springfield; six grandchildren, Angel (Matt) Jenkins, Brandon (Jaclyn) Peters, David Stephen Haydon, Abby Haydon, Grant (Laura) Haydon and Ethan Haydon; three great grandchildren, Mattie Jenkins, Kelsey Jenkins and Julianne Peters; two sisters, Barbara Chesser of Willisburg and Patsy (Billy) Chesser of Chaplin; two special friends, Luis Del Angel and Layla Del Angel and his little buddy, Jasper (his dog).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 10th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Cal Adams.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg,

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Angel Jenkins and Abby Haydon.

Serving as casket bearers will be Brandon Peters, David Stephen Haydon, Grant Haydon, Ethan Haydon, Matt Jenkins and Luis Del Angel.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Sunday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
