Charles Jerome Coyle, age 88, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Harrodsburg, KY on June 8, 1937 to the late Roy S. and Thelma Perkins Coyle.
He was a member of the Willisburg Christian Church where he formally served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, a 1956 graduate of Mackville High School, he served in the Army National Guard; a former member of the Willisburg Fire Department, a former trustee of the Willisburg Cemetery, a retired employee of Hitachi Manufacturing of Harrodsburg and a retired farmer.
Preceding him in death was a son, Charles Jerome “Jerry” Coyle, II on August 10, 2015 and a sister, Shelby Jean Kiff on December 12, 2012.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Lena Rae Mattingly Coyle; two daughters, Melinda Carey (Steve) and Jean Thompson (Billy) of Willisburg; a son, Douglas Coyle (Beth) of Danville; ten grandchildren, Dana Shewmaker (Jason), Ben Gash (Sarah), Jessica Coulter, Andrew Carey, J.D. Gash, Michael Gash (Madeline), Stephanie Preston (Spencer), Campbell Coyle (Sara Grace), Corbin Coyle and Clark Coyle and eighteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6th at the Willisburg Christian Church with Bro. Lance Ladd, officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Joe Paul Hatchett.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hale, Blair Hale, Brad Wingfield, Mike Mattingly and Charles Dudley Tapp.
Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons, Andrew Carey, Ben Gash, J.D. Gash, Michael Gash, Campbell Coyle, Corbin Coyle and Clark Coyle.
Visitation will be at the Willisburg Christian Church from 4 until 8 Friday and after 8:00 Saturday morning.
