Janice Gayle (Settles) Stine

Janice Gayle Settles Stine, age 69, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

A native of Washington County, she was born on May 27, 1951 to the late Roy Allen and Mayme A. Darland Settles.

She was a member of the Freedom Praise Ministries (Pentecostal), a homemaker, bingo champ, wheeler and dealer, avid gardener, canner, treasurer hunter and collector, bachelor of square dancing, mvp rook partner, a queen of country cooking, a friend and mom to all.

Preceding her in death was her husband, James Carl Stine, Jr. on October 8, 2013; a son, James Allen Stine on January 23, 2016; three sisters, Mildred Settles on October 17, 1940, Laverne Gordon on February 22, 2006 and Nancy Gabhart on September 20, 2020 and six brothers, Roy Kenneth Settles on February 18, 2006, Samuel Curtis Settles on April 5, 2008, J.D. Settles on May 16, 2010, Murriel Settles on July 20, 2014, Elbert Settles on July 10, 2017 and Larry Settles on March 17, 2018.

Survivors include a daughter, Misty Gayle Stewart; a granddaughter, Leah Mary Gayle Stewart; two bonus daughters, Jennifer Webb and Christina Webb all of Louisville; a sister, Delilah Belcher of Mackville and two brothers, Everett Settles (Marie) of Springfield and Joe Settles (Carol) of Mackville. She was also survived by a host of extended family and friends and her dog, Muffin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday March 19th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Murphy, former minister of the Mackville Church Of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jim Settles

Serving as pallbearers will be Len Settles, Steve Settles, Jason “Heavy” Bratcher, Doug Gabhart, Randy Gabhart and Perry Sallee.

Visitation will be after 10:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
