James Norris Sims, age 94, of Tatham Springs Road, Willisburg, KY passed away at 10:45 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2021 at the home of his son in Chaplin.
A native of Washington County, he was born on March 27, 1926 to the late Charlie and Betty Lewis Sims.
He was a member of the Willisburg Christian Church and a retired employee of the General Electric Company of Louisville.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Margie Burkhead Sims on October 1, 2006; a daughter, Mary Faye Byrd on November 29, 2019; two sisters, Virginia Gullett on November 16, 2012 and Wilma L. Burns on February 21, 1996 and three brothers, Rudolph Sims on January 5, 1995; Eugene Sims on June 5, 2000 and Leroy Sims on January 13, 2007.
Survivors include his son, Paul Sims of Chaplin; his daughter, Jo Ann Robles of San Antonio, Texas and his granddaughter, Vicki Lea Lewis and her husband, Lloyd of Willisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Hood, pastor of the Brush Grove Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Sims, Philip Coulter, Larry Scott, Gary Scott, Paul Wayne Colvin and Bobby Chesser.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
