John Louis “Jack” Tapp, age 79, of Springfield, KY passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at his home following an illness.
A native of Washington County, he was born on February 17, 1942 to the late William Jefferson “Bill” and Berry Litsey Thompson Tapp.
He was a member of the Springfield Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Springfield High School and a retired employee of Universal Leaf Tobacco Company of Richmond, Virginia.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Nell Litsey Tapp on March 11, 1938 and Berry Varble on November 29, 2018 and two brothers, Sterling T. Tapp on January 21, 2011 and Dudley Tapp on May 18, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Holliday Tapp; a son, John M. Tapp and his wife, Sarah of Winter Park, Florida; two grandchildren, Noah Tapp of New York, NY and Peyton Elizabeth Tapp of Winter Park, Florida and two brothers, Dr. Jimmy Tapp and his wife, Dee and William Tapp of Elizabethtown.
In keeping with Jack’s wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
