Hobert Wesley Hill, age 90, of Springfield, KY passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, he was born on April 8, 1931 to the late Henry Hobert and Victoria Coulter Hill.
He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, he was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation.
Preceding him in death was a step-granddaughter, Lisa Gribbins on September 21, 1994; three sisters, Katherine Pinkston on July 13, 1997, Ann Burgen on February 15, 2009 and Nancy Mitchell on November 28, 2009 and three brothers, David Lee Hill on January 23, 2005, Dixie Hill on November 11, 2013 and John Thomas “Luke” Hill on December 24, 2016.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Pinkston Hill; a daughter, Jeannie (Frankie) Hooper; a son, Terry (Lisa) Hill all of Springfield and three grandchildren, Rachel (Channing) Nally, Jared (Lataina) Arnold and Kelly (Jeremy) Simpson and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private for immediate family only Monday, February 14th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Chesser, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. John McDaniel.
Burial will be on Cemetery Hill where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be J.L. Pinkson, Charles Pinkston, Larry Hill, Timmy Coulter, Jeremy Coulter and Alan Carpenter.
Public visitation will be from 10:00 until 1:00 p.m. Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
