Helen Ann Wathen Murphy, age 92. of Lebanon, KY passed away at 7:05 a.m., Sunday, May 22, 2022 at her home.
A native of Marion County, she was born on January 19, 1930 to the late James Robert and Anna Lucille Abell Wathen.
She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and a retired employee of the former Jane & Linda Sportswear.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, George and Bobby Wathen and seven sisters, Beatrice Buckman, Clarice Hughes, Lula Murphy, Adeline Hughes, Louise Harmon, Lucille Drury and Judy Antle.
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Brady (Leroy) of Bardstown, Connie Wright of Campbellsville, Mary Jo Prather (Jim) of Oldham County, Helen Murphy of Bardstown and Anna Colvin (Tom) of Lebanon; four sons, Joseph Bernard Murphy, Jr. (Hilda) of Radcliff, David Terry Murphy (Catherine) of Bardstown, Mark Murphy (Shelly) of Lebanon and Michael “Chezzy” Murphy of Louisville; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and three brothers, Bill Wathen of Louisville, Joe McGee Wathen (Jeannette) of LaGrange and Tommy Wathen (Bonnie) of Campbellsville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26th at the St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Burial will be in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the granddaughters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marvin Murphy, Tony Brady, Jim Prather, Jr., Tyler Fenwick, Trent Fenwick, Eric Browning, Nicholas Wright and Daniel Wright.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Wednesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
