Glen Davis Thompson, Jr., age 89, of Springfield, KY passed away at 12:57 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his home after an illness.
He was born in Green County, KY on March 11, 1935 to the late Alta Mae DeSpain Thompson and Glen Davis “Buddy” Thompson, Sr.
He was a member of the Open Arms Community Church, an Army Veteran and a retired employee of General Electric.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Burma Lou Hardin Thompson on September 2, 2018.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Russell (John) of Springfield and two sons, Jimmy Thompson (Karen) of Bardstown and Harley Thompson of Springfield; six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Monday, June 3rd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Russell, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be J.T. Thompson, John Boy Russell, Brandon Gribbins, Kyle Yankey, Brandon Newton and Brent Dean.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to, The Youth Program at Open Arms Community Church.
Visitation will be after 11:00 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
