Georgia Mae Mattingly Tapp, age 90, of Goatley Lane, Springfield, KY passed away at 4:19 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Village of Lebanon Nursing Home.
A native of Washington County, she was born on August 12, 1933 to the late Charles O. and Louise Hall Mattingly.
She was a member of the Springfield Christian Church, a 1952 graduate of Springfield High School and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Dudley Tapp on May 18, 2021; a grandson, Timothy Russell on December 10, 2006; a sister, Norma J. Mattingly on December 22, 1940 and a brother, Charles F. Mattingly on September 3, 2018.
Survivors include two daughters, Lena Russell of Springfield and Eleanor Broaddus (Bob) of Richmond; a son, Charles Dudley Tapp (Shirley) of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Melissa Flannery (Scott), Chad Broaddus (Allison), Phillip Broaddus (Katrina), Elizabeth Raley (Jody), Joseph Tapp (Christy), Thomas Tapp (Miriam) and Sarah Smith (Dylan); ten great grandchildren and a sister, Lena Rae Coyle (Jerome) of Willisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7th at the Springfield Christian Church with Bro. Roland Youmans, officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Chad Broaddus.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Doneta Hoppes, Frances Yaste, Shirlene Yaste, Carol Keeling and Faye Crouch.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joseph Tapp, Thomas Tapp, Phillip Broaddus, Scott Flannery, Jody Raley and Dylan Smith.
Visitation will be at the church after 11:00 Tuesday morning until time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
