Garland Francis Mann, Sr., age 85, of the Thompsonville Community of Washington County, KY passed away at 11:27 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on August 31, 1939 to the late Charles Everett and Mary Zelma Hamilton Mann.
He was of the Catholic faith, an Army Veteran and a retired employee of General Electric.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Ludie Downs Mann on February 4, 2003; two sons, Charles Howard Mann on July 16, 2006 and Garland Francis “Frankie” Mann, Jr. on June 27, 2021; a grandson, Garland Travis Mann on January 8, 2018; two sisters, Wanda Brady and Catherine Mudd and five brothers, Charles, Jimmy, Jerry, Earl and Joe Mann.
Survivors include a son, James Anthony “Tony” Mann (Jackie) of Springfield; four daughters, Fran Mattingly (Jim) of New Carlisle, Ohio; Mary Z. Mann of Springfield; Karen Gaines (Steve) of Lawrenceburg and Sharon Birdwhistell (Trevor) of Ocala, Florida; twenty-two grandchildren; sixty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and two sisters, Addie Noel Key of Springfield and Pat Miller (Al) of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 28th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. David Black, officiating.
Burial will be on Cemetery Hill.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael Mann, Kenny Mann, Kyle Mattingly, Caj Gaines, Reese Gaines, Jennifer Leake, Maranda Hubbard and Kylie Birdwhistell.
Serving as casket bearers will be Christian Birdwhistell, Matthew Mann, Daniel Mann, Racquel Mattingly, Jacquelin Martin and Jacob Gaines.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Thursday and after 8:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
