Faye Smith Yankey, age 92, of Springfield, KY passed away at 2:05 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Springfield.
A native of Washington County, she was born on August 10, 1933 to the late Andrew Roy “A.R.” and Mary Elizabeth Perkins Smith.
She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Howard Franklin “Midget” Yankey on Oct. 19, 2003; two daughters, Connie Allen and Lois Boyd; a grandson, Bradley Wayne Devine; a great grandson, Austin White; a sister, Gladys Pennington and four brothers, Lester, James W., Tommy and Richard Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Spalding (Mark “Zippo”) of Springfield; three sons, Steve Hardin (Donna) and Danny Hardin of Springfield and Donnie Howard Yankey (Janice) of Louisville; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 15th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Joe Mattingly officiating.
Burial will be on Cemetery Hill.
Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Mike Boyd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Hardin, Jeremy Hardin, Steve Smith, Andrew Rutherford, Cory Brister and Preston Campbell.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Sunday and after 8:00 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
