Everett Lee Russell, age 89, of Mackville, passed away at 6:25 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on July 7, 1931 to the late Everett Vernon and Mattie Kate Coyle Russell.
He was a member of the Mackville Christian Church where he served as an Elder, a longtime director of Camp Calvary, a sixty-five year member of the Magnolia Masonic Lodge # 201 F & AM at Mackville having served the Lodge seven times as Master, a member of the Gideons International for twenty-four years, a long-tme member of Men for Christ serving for many years as a Director, a retired farmer and a retired employee of the Kentucky State Department of Agriculture. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Anna Florence Wayne Russell on June 10, 2018; an infant son, William Wayne Russell on September 24, 1952; an infant grandson, Thomas Austin Gabhart on August 6, 1981; a son-in-law, Jeffrey K. Settles on April 1, 2007 and a brother, William Martin Russell on February 8, 2016.
Survivors include; two daughters, Sharon Gabhart (Carl) and Charlotte Settles of Mackville; five grandchildren, Leeann Sobek (Ara), Aaron Gabhart (Crystal), Leesha Vincent (Shane), Jordan Settles (Taylor) and Jacob Settles; twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Clifton Russell (Billie Ann) of Mackville; two sisters, Kay Burkhead and Frances Yaste and one sister-in-law, Frances Russell all of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26th at the Mackville Christian Church with Bro. Jim Cooper, officiating.
Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren, Cassandra Sobek, Maddie Kate Gahbart, Bethany Sobek, James Sobek, Caleb Gabhart, Knox Vincent, Bowen Vincent, Blaire Settles, Sawyer Settles and Bella Vincent.
Serving as casket bearers will be Aaron Gabhart, Jordan Settles, Jacob Settles, Ara Sobek, Dr. Shane Vincent, Gideon Sobek, Conner Gabhart and Bobby Lee Russell.
Visitation will be after 9:30 Saturday morning at the Mackville Christian Church. A masonic service will be held at 1:00 Saturday afternoon at the church with Billy Riggs delivering the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to, Camp Calvary GROW Program or Gideon’s International.
