Eula Mavis Alsip Deringer, age 96, formerly of Willisburg, KY went home to her heavenly father on Monday, November 3, 2025 in Andersonville, TN.
She was born in Williamsburg in Whitley County, Kentucky on January 15, 1929 to the late Thomas “Tom” Belton and Nannie Louise Adkins Alsip.
She was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church where she was an active member for many years and a homemaker. Eula was the family genealogist and loved sewing, crocheting and quilting.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fraysure Deringer on October 13, 2003, a son, John Fraysure Deringer, Jr. and siblings, K.D. Alsip, Bernard Alsip and Maxine Slayton and a son-in-law, Joseph Griffin.
Eula and Fraysure married in 1949 and lived in Louisville until retirement, then returned to Washington County.
She is survived by her three children, Marilyn Sears (Michael) of Andersonville, TN, Carolyn Williams (Johnnie) of Greenbrier, TN and Jenny Griffin of Richmond, VA and a daughter in-law, Cathy Deringer of Paoli, IN. Eula was a loving grandmother of nine grandchildren, great grandmother of thirteen and great great grandmother of one.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Mills and Rev. J.W. Hatfield, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday and after 9:00 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
