Eugene Dawson "Gene" Wilkerson

Eugene Dawson “Gene” Wilkerson, age 83, of the Mooresville Community of Washington County, passed away at 7:05 p.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Baptist Health in Louisville.

A native of Washington County, he was born on March 29, 1938 to the late Kenneth David and Christine Montgomery Wilkerson.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Gene spent his working career driving a truck first for his father-in-law, Randall Moore then Lanham Brothers Ready Mix and IMI.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Sue Moore Wilkerson; a son, Mike Wilkerson (Rose Sanders) and a grandson, John Henry Moore all of the Mooresville Community.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 8th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. DeLane Pinkston, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Brewer, Jonathan Votaw, Wayne Waldridge, Jerry Lanham, Todd Carney and Ray Greer, Jr.

Visitation will be after 11:00 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
